Veterinary support for conservation worldwide
Many conservation organisations simply do not have the funds to include veterinary support in their project plans; those that do may struggle to find the specialist vets they really need.
Wildlife Vets International was formed by a group of very experienced zoo and wildlife vets in 2004 to respond to these needs. The charity is now in a unique position to provide independent specialist veterinary support to any project, anywhere in the world.
Services provided by WVI to conservation projects will be free of charge where required. However, WVI does undertake to pay the specialist vets it uses, rather than rely on volunteers. Paying vets (a reduced conservation rate) puts their use on a professional level, which allows us to allocate experienced vets to specific jobs, and to prioritise need. By paying our vets, we are able to respond to conservation crises when they happen. For highly endangered animals on the brink of extinction, assistance cannot come fast enough.
The charity currently has three trustees:
Professor Thomas Ogilvie-Graham - Veterinarian
Ms Sharon Miller - Director of AMUR conservation charity
Mr Matt Brash - Veterinarian
The trustees are assisted by:
