Work Experience and Volunteering for WVI

At the current time, the majority of our work is done overseas. All modern conservation is multidisciplinary, with many different organisations contributing to the survival of species and habitats. Often, conservation projects are in ecologically or politically sensitive areas where the numbers of visitors need to be kept to a minimum. Unfortunately at the present time this means that we are unable to accept veterinary surgeons or students as volunteers, or to offer work experience.

You may find the following links useful in locating a suitable veterinary practice or organisation, or check our directory page for details of conservation projects we work with.

We exist to provide the right specialist vet for the job. To do this, we maintain a list of experienced vets who might be able to provide expert support in their specialist field. If you are a specialist veterinarian in any field, and would like to register an interest in providing veterinary services to a project in the future, please email us.
