Job Opportunity: Saving Cheetah Cubs in Somaliland
24/1/22
Are you a vet or vet technician looking for your next adventure?
The Cheetah Conservation Fund is currently looking for both a full-time vet and vet technician for its cheetah rehabilitation facilities in Hargeisa, Somaliland. The positions are available from March 2022.
The project provides housing and care for cheetah cubs rescued from the illegal wildlife trade. There are often more than 60 resident animals.
For the veterinarian post, most of the work will be clinical, but also includes animal care and delivering training to local vets and students. Confiscations frequently involve very young cubs, so hand-rearing tends to be a big part of the job, particularly between September and December.
The successful candidates will have housing and meals provided in addition to their salary.
What are you waiting for? Good luck!
