Training Vets. Changing Lives. Saving Species.
28/10/24
Sorry to mention Christmas when the clocks have only just gone back for those of us in the UK, but we are very excited to announce that we’ve been awarded £20k in match funding for the Big Give #ChristmasChallenge24 in December.
Our focus this year is on training the next generation of wildlife vets. We’ll be talking about some of our favourite veterinary heroes –those we’ve mentored, those who do the mentoring, and even some mentees turned mentors – and the urgent need to make training in wildlife health more accessible to those working in the world’s most biodiverse places.
Please sign up to our newsletter to keep up to date to keep up to date with the campaign, and all the work we do to get veterinary science to the heart of conservation.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is our main fundraising event of the year – and, for us as a small charity, is key to making it possible for WVI to do what it does. We are delighted to have been awarded £10k by the Big Give, which together with a further £10k in pledged funds from our fabulous friends at the Big Cat Sanctuary, Hertfordshire Zoo and other charitable trusts, gives us total match funds of £20k. With the help of our wonderful supporters, we will have the chance to double that to £40k during the campaign, which will run from 3rd – 10th December. Please save the date and get ready to spread the word!
