WVI's London Marathon Runner

In two weeks time, on Sunday 22nd April, at 10am in Blackheath/Greenwich, London, WVI's first EVER marathon runner will start the 26.2 miles that make up the Virgin Money London Marathon. Helen Cholawo will be starting with 39,000 others and will be running with her club - Chiltern Harriers.

Helen lives in Chesham with her husband Dan and young boys Tom and Ben, two horses, two cats and her little dog Pippy. She has been running for many years but decided this year to sign up to the marathon and managed to get a running club place through the Chiltern Harriers.

Helen has been training hard since January - not even stopping for the Beast From the East. For those non-UK based supporters, this was a spell of particularly cold and snowy weather which brought the UK to a standstill! It has certainly not been an easy winter to be out training in.

Helen works at the Wheelhouse Veterinary Centre with Matt Rendle, the RVN in charge of our work with the Jivdaya Charitable Trust. Matt told his fellow employees about the amazing work he does in India with the birds that get injured during the kite festival.

Inspired, Helen decided to get sponsorship to help the amazing work that Matt is doing.

Her aim at the moment is to stay injury and illness free to get to the start line.

Please support Helen through her JustGiving Fundraising Page. We will be rooting for Helen on the 22nd April!
